How The Bail Bonds Process Works In San Bernardino
To receive county bail bonds, you usually only have to wait a few hours on end for a judge to set your bail. Our local bail bond team has a different advantage since we live in California. A person’s bail can be set at any time of the day or night and on any day of the week. But you must wait for the booking process and bail hearing first. Once they are booked and sent to a local jail we can usually find them and begin the bail process. We can begin the inmate search for you and help with posting bail.
This means we can find our their inmate information, including their bail amount. This is where your bail bond professionals come in to help. We will help you through the California bail system and figure out how much the bail amount (most call it “bail money”) you need to set your loved one free.
At times you may find the information yourself at any of the local detention’s center websites such as the San Bernardino’s County Sherrif’s Website. There you can find the amount of bail along with other details.
When you call us it would be helpful to have the following information for us to find your loved one:
- What charge the person is facing
- Which jail the person is in
- The person’s date of birth
- The person’s booking number
Once we have all of the information that is needed, we can work quickly to help get your loved one out of jail.
Bail Bonds Payment Options
We like to help you at all facets during this journey. Like most of the other bail bondsman in California, we follow the California penal code which states we cannot not, and most importantly, will not charge more than 10% of your bail amount. We are honest bail bondsmen who work hard to post bond. A bond in California can be expensive even for 10% of certain bail amounts, which is why we offer various payment options to suit your needs. Below are a few payment plans for your bail bonds financing.
- 2% Down Bail Bonds: This option allows you to place only 2% down of the bail amount, granted you have a co-signer or OAC. The rest of the 8% can be charged at a later date.
- 1% Down Bail Bonds: This option allows you to place only 1% down of the bail amount, given the same options as above. This is an excellent choice for first time offenders which allows your loved one to get home sooner to handle affairs.
- 0% Bail Bonds: This option allows you to place collateral in place of any % of bail money down. No matter the amount of bail we can offer this solution for collateral. There are times when financing isn’t an option and collateral is the only option.
If you do not have the finances on hand, you can still get your loved one out then pay the bond amount fees later.
As your local bail bond professionals we will do everything in our power to get your loved out of of the county jails. We understand the bail bond process and strive to make your life easy.

Bail Amount: What Determines It?
Before court appearances, before jail release – a bond amount must be set by a judge. This is determined by numerous factors! And each factor has great weight and precedence. A few questions a judge will ask themselves before determining your bail include:
- What is the defendant’s criminal history?
- Is the defendant a flight risk?
- Does the defendant have important family obligations?
- Does the defendant have a strong connection with the community?
- Does the defendant pose a public safety risk?
Bail amounts are not the only requirement. There will be other conditions set forth by the judge. If you are in need of less than 24 hour bail bonds we are happy to help you during your time of need.

What Are The Most Asked Questions In San Bernardino
What is a bail bond?
How much does a bail bond cost in San Bernardino County?
In San Bernardino County, the cost of a bail bond is typically 10% of the total bail amount set by the court. For example, if the court sets the bail amount at $10,000, the cost of the bail bond would be $1,000. It’s important to note that this is a non-refundable fee paid to the bail bond agent.
- 1% Down Bail Bonds
- 2% Down Bail Bonds
- Collateral Bail Bonds
In San Bernardino County, there are generally two types of payment options for bail bonds: cash payment and payment through a bail bond agency.
Cash payment involves paying the full amount of the bail directly to the court or jail. If the defendant appears in court as scheduled, the full amount of the bail will be refunded at the end of the case. However, if the defendant fails to appear in court, the full amount of the bail will be forfeited to the court.
Payment through a bail bond agency involves paying a non-refundable fee (typically 10% of the bail amount) to the bail bond agent. The bail bond agent then provides a guarantee to the court that the full bail amount will be paid if the defendant fails to appear in court. The defendant or their family will need to provide collateral to the bail bond agent, such as property or cash, to secure the bond.
In San Bernardino County, payment through a bail bond agency is a more common option for defendants and their families, as it allows for a lower upfront cost and provides assurance that the full bail amount will be paid if the defendant fails to appear in court. However, it’s important to note that the non-refundable fee paid to the bail bond agent is not returned, even if the defendant appears in court as scheduled.
What happens if a defendant fails to appear in court?
What is collateral, and is it required for a bail bond?
How long does the bail bond process take?
Can a bail bond be refunded?
Can a bail bond be revoked?
Yes, a bail bond can be revoked if the defendant violates the conditions of their release or fails to appear in court. The bail bond agent may then be required to pay the full bail amount to the court.
